Q Are all BIN numbers in the BIN-IIN database?

A No. Most, but not all known BIN numbers are in the BIN-IIN database and we are always looking for new bin numbers. Visa BIN numbers from the Visa Interchange Directory and MasterCard BIN numbers from the Mastercard Member Directory are added when available.

Q Do all BIN numbers in the BIN-IIN database contain complete data?

A Most, but not all data is supplied in all circumstances Not all entries have a phone number, credit or debit denotation, country of origin, or bank name although every effort has been made to make the database as complete as possible. Data statistics are published on percentage phone number and number of U.S. entries only, and not every BIN number listed has complete data available. In an effort to provide as much data as possible, incomplete entries are included if partial data is confirmed.

Q Are all Credit Card BIN Databases the same?

A No. The BIN-IIN, bank identification number list is independently compiled and differs from other lists in quality and accuracy. The BIN-IIN database is compiled and distributed by a U.S. company. Bank BIN numbers, credit card BIN numbers, and debit card BIN numbers are provided in text format for every known credit card issuer, including American Express and Discover Card.

Some BIN databases exclude and include Visa BIN numbers, MasterCard BIN numbers, American Express BIN numbers or Discover BIN numbers, but the BIN-IIN database has them all.

Q What do you mean by private use?

A You can use this database to develop into your own company software, like a gas pump, online shopping cart, rental car software or just use the BIN database as a straight file to search records one at a time.

You cannot use the database to publish, or provide the data to the public.

The information is designed to help merchant prevent fraud by providing security phone numbers for code 10 authorizations or suspicious activity or to help determine the card type, such as Debit or Credit and cannot be sold or redistributed under the license.

Q I tried a credit card BIN search on the BIN-IIN database and the bank BIN came up, "not found." Why was my Visa BIN not found?

A Most, but not all credit card BIN search results will be found. VISA BIN ranges or MasterCard BIN ranges that are not in the BIN-IIN bank identification number list can be added in exchange for a reward. We challenge you to find any BIN / IIN that is in another database and not in our database. Our private database is the best and most complete, second only to the aquirer level.

Q How can I get rewarded for providing missing bank BIN numbers?

A You can get paid $1 for any BIN number not in the database that you have provide to us under the terms of service. For each additional verifiable BIN number you provide that is added to the issuer identification number database, we will pay $0.25 each.
